Physiotherapy Team

First Contact Physiotherapists (FCPs) are highly trained physiotherapists with a specialist expertise in the assessment, investigation and management of musculoskeletal conditions.

We currently have three FCPS working with the member practices of Kingston PCN;

  • Kemila covers Fairhill & St Albans Medical Practices;

  • Kev covers Fairhill Medicl Practice & Kingston Health Centre and

  • Emma covers Kingston Health Centre & St Albans Medical Practice

You can book an appointment directly with one of our FCPs via the receptionist, which means you won’t need to wait for a referral from a doctor. Please note that they can only see patients aged 16 and above.

 

Please book directly to see one of our FCPs if you have:

  • Soft tissue injuries, sprains, strains or sports injuries

  • Arthritis – any joint

  • Possible problems with muscles, ligaments, tendons or bone, e.g. tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, ankle sprains

  • Spinal pain including lower back pain, mid-back pain and neck pain

  • Spinal-related pain in arms or legs, including nerve symptoms, e.g. pins and needles or numbness

 

Our First Contact Physiotherapists have longer appointments and will:

  • Assess you and diagnose what’s happening

  • Give expert advice on how best to manage your condition

  • Refer you on to specialist services, or for longer term physiotherapy if necessary

Kemila Goppy

First Contact Physiotherapist  

Kemila is the First Contact Physiotherapist for Kingston PCN based at Fairhill Medical practice and one day a week at St Albans GP Medical Centre. She qualified in 2005 from the university of East London. With 17 years of practice she comes with a wealth of experience and specialises in assessing, diagnosing and managing simple and complex musculoskeletal presentations.  She has worked in various sports, private practice and currently for the NHS. She has additional skills in Acupuncture, Pilates, Personal training and joint injection therapy but her real passion lies in rehabilitation using exercise prescription and self-management advice/guidance.  

 

Outside of work she loves spending time with the family, baking and home interiors.

Emma Harrington

First Contact Physiotherapist  

Emma qualified as a Physiotherapist from Kings College London in 2006 and since then has worked in a variety of musculoskeletal (MSK) roles both within the NHS and privately. Settings include Orthopaedics, hospital outpatients, Rheumatology, GP/Corporate/Gym based Physiotherapy clinics, private Physiotherapy practices and various sporting roles, including at the 2012 Olympics working with the gymnasts.

Emma has extensive experience assessing, diagnosing and treating all MSK conditions and injuries. She has a special interest in the foot and ankle. She has post graduate training in requesting imaging as well as recent Masters modules working towards advanced clinical practice skills for the FCP role.

Keval Panchal 

First Contact Physiotherapist  

Keval is a qualified First Contact Physiotherapist, graduating from the University of Nottingham. Since university, Keval has worked in a range of NHS settings involving; Orthopaedics, Musculoskeletal Outpatients, Paediatrics, Respiratory, Rheumatology, Stroke, and Neuromuscular rehabilitation, progressing to senior physiotherapist level within the NHS. To provide a more holistic viewpoint on rehabilitation,

 

Keval also has post-graduate training in Acupuncture, Clinical Pilates and as a Personal Trainer to enhance treatment skills. Keval is currently attending St George’s University to complete a Masters degree in Advanced Clinical Practice. Keval’s specialist areas are upper and lower limb injuries, with a particular interest in hip and knee injuries.
